Originally built in 1917 and used as a gunnery training ship during World War I, the USS Arizona, along with the Oklahoma and Nevada, were at the Pearl Harbor naval base in the Hawaiian Islands conducting exercises in 1941 when Japanese forces attacked on December 7 resulting in the loss of over 1,100 servicemen and women. Our highly detailed model of the Arizona will be packaged with a book detailing the horrendous attack at Pearl Harbor. Due to be released in May of 2006.
